D/J.  A light-hearted discourse on the social history of angling as depicted on old post cards It shows that there is more to fishing than a mere contest between man and fish and that anglers are compassionate people with a sence of responsibility for their natural heritage.  - Near Mint

Richly illustrated by the author.  A River Wardens life on two of the most beautiful small rivers in England the Tavy and Walkham.   Armstrong was a river keeper, naturalist and wildlife artist.  Charming pictures and text describing life, incidents and some of the characters like old Long John who at eighty five had never been caught poaching, of Jack 'Cracker' Smith the ageless farmer, the Brigadier, still fishing despite his failing eyesight and of Dave and George the authors colleagues with their droll observations of country life.  Slight Foxing to E/P.  -Fine. 

AFN   Melbourne  2002 revised edn.   4to Illust  336p.  Pictorial soft cover in removable protective cover. Essential information on fishing in Tasmania, the fish, a breakdown of regions and National parks, techniques for the areas and 250p of details of the Tasmanian trout waters.  Water damage to rear pages.  -good                                                  

Launceston 1973, 8vo Illust 300p including adverts, soft cover.  Foreword by Sir Peter Crisp.  The story of the creation of one of the best trout fisheries of the world.  Produced by the Northern Tasmanian Fisheries Association to commemorate 75 years of service to angling.  - Very Good   

G Robertson Sydney, 1900, Folio oblong, 58pp, Dark Green hide grain cloth cover with gilt edges and titles.  Includes seventeen colour plates by the author. As well as his interest in his art Murray has been able to incorporate his other love, for fishing, into several  sections of the publication.  He refers to bream and trout fishing in the Derwent, the Huon and the Great Lake.   Several pages separating from the spine but overall this is  Good condition.   

Lansdowne Press Melbourne, 1969 1st edn.  8vo, Illust, 215pp, D/J.   An outstanding collection of stories by this highly regarded angler, artist and author. Includes a discussion on the tools of the trade, general tactics and thoughts and reflections on the art of fly fishing mainly on rivers in Tasmania.  Displays the authors gift as a storyteller and is regarded as his best publication and is in the vogue of Skues, Haig Brown, Halford, Hills and Theodore Gordon. Illustrated with many drawings by the author.    D/J is worn, has a small section missing and rear cover has some water damage.  -Good
