This anthology, produced to celebrate the authors 80^th birthday, contains extracts from all of his adult books and a few extracts from his childrens books.  From stories of wild-fowling in the far north of Britian to night fishing for carp in dark Midland pools, from his famous books about the white goose to his stories of the fantastical Little Grey Men, there is something for everyone who loves the British countryside. The extracts are accompanied by illustrations by the author.  -Fine.

As well as his interest in his art Murray has been able to incorporate his other love, for fishing, into several  sections of the publication.  He refers to bream and trout fishing in the Derwent, the Huon and the Great Lake.   Several pages separating from the spine but overall this is  Good condition.

Fills a gap in our literature of  shoreline ecology.   Includes  zones, adaptations of seashore animals, shoreline animal feeding, communities on rocky shores and hints to explorers. Illustrated by Denys Watkins-Pitchford.  BB is thankful that he knew the sport of wildfowling at its very best between the wars when the lonely wastes of the Wash were thronged with fowl in winter.   But with better roads and better access many of the great haunts of wildfowls are now patrolled by irresponsible men who will shoot at anything that flies. This book captures some of the magic of the tideways, the shapes and colours of the clouds, the effects of light on the marshes and sea, and patterns of the flighting fowl, D/J has some rubbing and prelims have some browning. -Very Good.
