Many b/w photographs, three tipped in watercolour plates by the author. This was the first book written in Australia to focus on flyfishing for trout. It is a happy mixture of fishing stories, tips, poetry, fly patterns, anecdotes, fine descriptive writing and some early history of the sport in Australia.     Includes chapters on saltwater fishing and Australian native freshwater fish but is mainly about trout fishing in New South Wales. The original is one of the most sought after angling  books  in Australia. -Mint

Rigby Ltd Adelaide, 1978, 4to, Illust., 157pp. Pictorial Board, An introduction to the most accessable and interesting waterways in Australia and details the pleasures they offer for swimming, water-sking, camping, canoeing, boating, skin diving, picnics but most of all fishing. The coverage is by states and each region is supported by a map. Illustrated by colour photographs, Slight foxing to prelims. -Fine

Essential information on fishing in Tasmania, the fish, a breakdown of regions and National parks, techniques for the areas and 250p of details of the Tasmanian trout waters.  Water damage to rear pages.  -good                                                  

South Gippsland Publishing Company. Foster Vic. 8vo Illust 64p. Card cover. Foreword by Rex Hunt. An introduction into baitfishing for the young and older anglers. Covers the requirements, the skills, the fish and the locations mainly  in Victoria. – Fine    

G Robertson Sydney, 1900, Folio oblong, 58pp, Dark Green hide grain cloth cover with gilt edges and titles.  Includes seventeen colour plates by the author. As well as his interest in his art Murray has been able to incorporate his other love, for fishing, into several  sections of the publication.  He refers to bream and trout fishing in the Derwent, the Huon and the Great Lake.   Several pages separating from the spine but overall this is  Good condition.   

Kangaroo Press  Sydney, 1990 1^st edn., oblong, 4to, Illust, 128pp. E/P, D/J.  Beautifully produced collection of nostalgic photographs of David’s favourite, some famous, fly fishing waters.  Fellow angler Tony Ritchie captured David’s pictorial story and produced a text that complements the photographs. Many of the people and places no longer exist. A delightful book. Includes a discussion on the tools of the trade, general tactics and thoughts and reflections on the art of fly fishing mainly on rivers in Tasmania.  Displays the authors gift as a storyteller and is regarded as his best publication and is in the vogue of Skues, Haig Brown, Halford, Hills and Theodore Gordon. Illustrated with many drawings by the author.    D/J is worn, has a small section missing and rear cover has some water damage.  -Good
