The Shannon Rise

AU$1,250.00
By: WIGRAM, R.H.
ID No.: 5010

Telegraph Publications Launceston N.D. (1953).   1st Edn. 12mo 48p. soft cover   is one of the scarcest books of all the Australian angling literature. R.H.(Dick) Wigram wrote The Shannon Rise and it was published by Telegraph Publications in Launceston. Although the book is undated it was published in 1953.

This is the story of Tasmania’s fishing miracle as told by the respected angler who missed only one rise in twenty-five years. This phenomenon was an annual event and the rise attracted anglers from all over Australia. The rise was a trout feeding frenzy caused by the huge hatches of the Asmicridea Grisea, the snowflake caddis.

This fragile paperback is one of our most sought-after books. Illustrated with black and white photographs this copy of the fragile book is the best I have seen.
