Stevens Publishing Launceston. A facimilie Edn 2001 of the 1st edn. published in 1904.  A ltd edition of fifty numbered copies. This copy is number 44.   12mo, 70pp.  plus adverts. Red cloth cover with gilt title and motif. 


This copy is a facsimile of one of the earliest books on fishing in Australia and is attributed as the first book exclusively on trout fishing. In the introduction Slater states ”This Book on  Tasmanian Fishing has been written, believing it will supply a long-felt want to anglers in general, more especially to visitors who are strangers to our state”.  It includes information on the North Esk, St Patricks, South Esk, The Lake, Meander, Rubicon, Mersey, Forth, Leven, Blythe, Supply, Forester, Brid, Georges, Scamander,  Nile, Ansons, Liffy rivers and the  Great Lake angling waterway. Also includes "A Fishing Trip on The Lake River” ,  "A Trip Up Ben Lomond Way”, "A Trip To The Mersey”, "Dry Fly Fishing”, "Spinning”,  "A Trip to Upper Lake River” and some verse.
